PB Trade Sends Engineers to Visit Gumo to Advance Community Development Projects

 

PB Trade’s engineering team recently travelled to the Gumo area in Northern Ghana to assess a number of projects that are being developed in partnership with the traditional leadership and local community.

The visit focused on evaluating the feasibility, scope, and practical requirements for several planned initiatives, including the proposed upgrade of the Gumo Palace. The palace serves as an important centre for leadership, community gatherings, and traditional governance, making it a key priority for the local Chief, Gumo-Naa and the local council.

Working alongside the 1993 team, the engineers met with Gumo-Naa, community leaders, and local stakeholders to better understand the area’s needs and the sequencing of future work. Their assessments will now be used to develop project briefs, preliminary budgets, implementation phases, and timelines for review before construction begins.

Following the visit, Gumo-Naa expressed his appreciation for the team’s professionalism and the care taken to understand the community’s priorities, noting that their work would play an important role in moving the next phase of the projects forward.

During the visit, the team also supported the distribution of Eco-Period reusable sanitary pads to women and girls within the neighboring Dulzugu community. Access to affordable menstrual products remains a challenge in many rural areas, and the initiative helps improve menstrual health while supporting school attendance, dignity, and long-term wellbeing.

The visit reflects PB Trade’s broader approach to development by combining long-term infrastructure planning with initiatives that can make an immediate difference in people’s lives. As planning continues, the company remains committed to working alongside Gumo-Naa and the wider community to deliver projects that respond to local priorities and create lasting opportunities.
